Gunpoint Attempted Robbery At Napoleon’s Pizza; Gunfire Erupts In Mon Bijou, Campo Rico

Breaking News / News / Virgin Islands / September 5, 2015

ST. CROIX — Violence is continuing to rock this island tonight as an attempted robbery at Napoleon’s Pizza east, located across from Cost U Less occurred at about 10:00 p.m., The Virgin Islands Consortium can confirm.

But the store’s owner did not simply allow the thieves to make away with the cash; as gunshots were exchanged during the incident, leaving the glass window of the business damaged with bullet holes before the suspects escaped.

Meanwhile, multiple shots were discharged in Campo Rico just as the robbery at Napoleon was ongoing. Gunshots were also discharged in Mon Bijou as police spread thin tonight attempting to respond to every incident.

These occurrences follow two major crime incidents today. The first, the homicide killing of Jermaine “Bird” Williams in the parking lot of George’s Christian Academy, while his wife was picking up their child. And a “gangster-style” gunfight in Red Brick that left up to four injured.

In light of the violence, the VIPD has canceled a pre-carnival Jump Up event planned for Saturday morning.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
