Man Shot Dead In St. Thomas Community Center

ST. THOMAS — Following a report from the 911 emergency call center of gunfire in Contant Knolls at about 11:45 p.m. last night, responding officers found a young man unresponsive in a nearby community center, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced this morning.

Ms. Freeman said emergency technicians were summoned to the scene and discerned no vital signs of life after their examinations. The victim, police say, suffered a single gunshot wound to the upper torso.

He has been identified as 23-year-old Kadeem John, a resident of Contant Knolls.

Police are asking anyone with information about the homicide to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 340-642-8449, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
