ST. CROIX — On the heels of a homicide incident that occurred on Friday night at about 8:00 p.m. in Castle Coakley, two men were injured and were being treated at the Juan F. Luis Hospital, after assailants, in a moving vehicle, riddled a maroon Mercedes Benz that the victims were traveling in with gunshots, police sources have confirmed to The Consortium. The incident occurred after 3:00 p.m. today.
V.I.P.D. Commissioner Delroy Richards told this publication that police were conducting a massive search operation for the suspects, spanning the Concordia intersection near the gas station, all the way to the stoplights near the Community United Methodist School and Daycare. Mr. Richards declined to comment further, however, telling The Consortium that the operation was underway, which barred him from speaking further on the mission.
A Consortium reporter on the scene saw special operations officers, along with members of the K-9 Unit, hunting deep into the bushes facing north, in search of the suspects.
