ST. CROIX — A man who was shot in the face on June 22 in Estate Grove Place has been airlifted out of the territory for further medical attention, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced late Sunday.

Mr. Dratte said the 911 emergency call center received a call from the Juan F. Luis Hospital in reference to a gunshot victim at the medical facility.

Upon officers’ arrival to J.F.L., they met with a black male who had been shot in the face, and was unable to give investigators a statement due to the gunshot injuries he sustained, according to Mr. Dratte.

The incident took place at the Secret Bar in Lorraine Village at about 6:40 p.m., according to police.

The force is asking the community for its assistance in solving the crime. Call 911 or send your tip to the anonymous tips service Crime Stoppers USVI, where you could receive a financial reward if your the details your provide lead to the arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators.
