ST. THOMAS — Police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for shooting a 44-year-old male victim, who was found lying lifeless on the roadside in the Hospital Ground area on Saturday afternoon after the 5:00 p.m. hour, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Monday.

The homicide victim was identified as 44-year-old Jerome Turnbull by next of kin.

According to Police Commissioner Delroy Richards, at roughly 10:45 a.m. Monday, members of the V.I.P.D.’s special operations team executed a search warrant on the home of suspect Aubrey Frett, a 29-year-old man from Prindsens Gade, located in the Hospital Ground area.

Mr. Frett was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Mr. Turnbull, the commissioner told this publication. Mr. Dratte said the suspect was also charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, unauthorized possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
