Women’s Coalition of St. Croix held its 37st annual Take Back the Night event on St. Croix, an action held to highlight domestic violence in the territory and the consequences thereof.

The Thursday evening gathering, held in Frederiksted where participants marched from the Fish Market to the Clock Tower, comes against the backdrop of the #MeToo era, which has empowered women to speak up against sexual assault.

Together, men and women marched silently in a show of respect for those who died at the hand of domestic violence. The video above gives a full picture of affair.

Correction: Oct. 19, 2018

A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Thursday’s event was the Women Coalition’s 31st. However, last night’s event was the 37th. We’ve updated the story.
