USVI Soccer Association To Host Beach Soccer Festival At Brewer’s Bay In St. Thomas

Community Center / Entertainment / December 18, 2014

The U.S. Virgin Islands Soccer Association (USVISA) will play host to this year’s soccer festival at Brewer’s Bay in St. Thomas, and the association is inviting the entire community to join in on what it’s hoping will be a fun event spanning two consecutive Sundays of 5 v 5 beach soccer.

The festival take place on December 28 and March 4. USVISA is also asking residents to not only spectate, but get involved in the game as skill level will not be regarded.

“Come out for an experience of sun, sand and soccer,” USVISA technical director, Kendall Walkes said. “Sometimes when we have these events, the community thinks you must be an expert to join. We just want everyone to come out and have a fun couple of days to remember,” he added.

In relation to entertainment, there will be music, food, beverages and “different activities ranging from paddle boarding and limbo, to dancing, hula hoop and co-ed swimsuit competitions,” according to the press release.

Attendees are asked to park their vehicles in the Reichhold Center parking lot. Those interested in participating in the soccer games are asked to contact Camille McKayle at [email protected].

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
