St. Thomas Woman Shot In Face; VIPD Investigating

ST. THOMAS — Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Unit are looking into a shooting incident that occurred here on Sunday, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Monday.

According to the report, at about 10:00 p.m. last Sunday, the 911 emergency call center received notification from a concerned citizen about a woman covered in blood on the Hull Bay roadway.

Officers were dispatched to the scene where they discovered the wounded woman, who’d sustained an injury from an apparent gunshot to the face. The victim was rushed to the Schneider Regional Medical Center where she underwent emergency surgery.

Jackson said the victim’s age and name have yet to be determined, and detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
