ST. CROIX — Two men were shot in the parking lot of the Penthouse Rooftop Nightclub in Castle Coakley, near WDHP, 1620 A.M. radio station, just after 4:00 a.m. this morning following a dance event featuring two of the territory’s top bands: Stylee Band based here and Poison Band based on St. Thomas, a source with firsthand knowledge of the incident made known to The Consortium. The information was corroborated by VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson, after he was provided with details by VIPD officers who responded to the incident.
The victim, identified as Shadon Beazer, lived in Harbor View and was in his twenties. According to the source, from whom police received information relating to the incident, the dance event came to an end just after 4:00 a.m., and just as partygoers were on their way out, gunshots rang out in the parking lot, leaving Beazer dead. Jackson later confirmed to The Consortium that another victim was also shot during the incident and is currently receiving medical attention.
After the shots were fired, revelers who attended the occasion — over 200 people — hurried out the area, but the victim’s family remained on the scene, wailing and trying to gain access to the cordoned off area.
About 7:20 a.m. today, VI Consortium arrived on the scene where police investigators were still collecting evidence. Moments later, a man who identified himself as the victim’s father, admonished police to find his son’s killers.
“And find them soon,” he warned.
