ST. THOMAS — A man was shot multiple times on Brookman Road in the wee hours of Sunday morning, and later succumbed to his injuries, according to V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman. Police are currently searching for a suspect named O’Marley Charles, above, and are seeking the community’s assistance in locating the French national.
The 911 emergency call center received notification of the incident at about 1:45 a.m., and officers were immediately dispatched to investigate the matter.
Upon arrival at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center, officers made contact with a black male who was being treated by emergency room physicians for multiple gunshot wounds about the body. Officers were unable to retrieve any further information from the victim in this incident due to his critical condition, according to Ms. Freeman.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., the victim succumbed to his injuries sustained during the shooting. The next of kin present at the hospital positively identified the deceased as 38-year-old Hans Oliver.
Police say the suspect, Mr. Charles, is in his late twenties, has a brown complexion, black hair, dark brown eyes and is from Baie Mahault, Guadeloupe.
