One Of Four Suspects Allegedly Involved In 2013 Jewelry Store Robbery Arrested

ST. THOMAS — One of four men allegedly involved in the 2013 robbery of a jewelry store in St. Thomas was arrested on Thursday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced via press release on Saturday.

Shaquielle Correa, above, was one of the four black males who entered the Gems and Gold Corner in Drakes Passage, Charlotte Amalie and robbed the establishment at gunpoint, according to the V.I.P.D. Police say the male individuals removed numerous gold items from the showcase and then exited the business.

Mr. Dratte said the Criminal Investigation Bureau is continuing its investigation into the incident in its attempt to arrest the other individuals involved.

Mr. Correar, 21, was charged with second-degree robbery, first-degree assault, grand larceny, possession of stolen property, and aiding and abetting a crime. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
