ST. CROIX — As the community continues to morn this week’s murder of a 17-month-old child who was shot during what Government House described today as a drive-by shooting, in a drive-by, Governor Kenneth Mapp today announced an increase in the reward by an anonymous donor.

On December 15, following the homicide of the young victim, Mr. Mapp authorized a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the killing.

In response, an anonymous donor has contributed an additional $5,000 to the reward bringing the total to $15,000, Government House said.

“Our community is angered by this loss and grieving with the family,” the governor said. The governor thanked the anonymous donor on behalf of the territory for their generosity and willingness to help, Government House said.
