In three separate incidents on St. Thomas over the weekend, four people were injured, the V.I. Police Department has revealed.
Two male victims ages 36 and 37 were shot on Saturday by unknown assailants around 8:30 a.m., Police spokesperson Melody Rames made known.
According to the victims, they were on the porch of someone who lives at Sugar Estate when a man, dressed in dark clothing and bandana over his face, started firing shots at them.
“As they ran into the house one victim was shot in his right foot and the other victim was shot in his left leg,” Rames said.
Later about 3:30 p.m. the same day, another man had sustained gunshot wounds while driving on Bovoni Road when someone in another vehicle started firing at him. He said he proceeded to drive into the Bovoni housing community to seek help, but said that the vehicle did not pursue him further.
The victim, 27, was grazed in his left shoulder and right arm. He was not able to give a description of the vehicle used to commit the crime, nor was he able to give a description of the assailant.
The third incident occurred just before 4 p.m. at the Anna’s Retreat basketball court last Friday. The 32-year old victim told police that he was in the area and suddenly started hearing gunshots.
“The victim was grazed in his stomach and was taken to the hospital by private vehicle,” Rames said. “The victim could not provide police any description of the vehicle or occupants.”
All the victims involved in the incidents over the weekend in St. Thomas were treated at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
